Frequently Asked Questions
On button radios (Renault, Dacia, Ford), each preset button cycles through the digits 0–9. Keep pressing it until the digit you need shows on the display, then move on to the next button.
It depends on the radio model. Try button 5 first and hold it for a few seconds until the radio reacts. If nothing happens, try button 6.
On some Renault and Dacia models you can enter the code with the remote stalk behind the steering wheel: turn the thumb wheel to set each digit, then press the bottom button to move on. Not every model has it, so check your manual.
Check that every digit is right before you confirm. It's easy to press once too many and skip past a digit. If all digits are correct and it still fails, make sure the code was generated for your radio's serial number, not just for the car.
After wrong attempts the radio locks for a while, and the wait gets longer with every mistake. Leave the ignition on and the radio switched on until it asks for the code again, then enter the correct one. Don't keep retrying while it's locked.
On Renault and Dacia, the pre-code is the 4-character ID (one letter and three digits) that you read from the radio. It's what you give us to get your code. The radio code is the 4-digit number you enter on the radio to unlock it.
Almost. On both, you use buttons 1–4 and press each one until the right digit appears. The difference is the last step: on Ford you press button 5 once to confirm, while on Renault/Dacia you hold button 5 or 6.
