- Locate the barcode sticker: Scan the white label stuck on the top, side, or back metal housing.
- Extract the Precode: Look for a 4-character string consisting of one letter and three digits (e.g., K012 or A105). It is usually found under the barcode or right next to the word "SECURITY".
Duster Tip: If you have a classic Daewoo or Continental radio, the precode is almost always the last 4 characters of the main supplier serial number.

Will disconnecting my battery lock the Duster radio again?
Yes. Every time the battery is disconnected, replaced, or your Duster suffers an electrical failure, the unit's anti-theft memory security system triggers automatically. Why is my screen frozen on a countdown timer after a "CODE ERROR"?
This is Dacia's built-in defense mechanism against brute-force entry. If an invalid security PIN is typed in, the stereo will temporarily lock down for a period starting at 1 minute, doubling up to 32 or 64 minutes with every consecutive failed attempt. To get past this, keep the radio ON with the ignition on. The countdown will not progress if the unit is powered down.

Free online tools and mobile apps can sometimes work on older 2010–2015 Duster precodes (like early Blaupunkt or standard Renault-based units), they usually fail on newer models.
